- Compact AutoRunner
This software provides a graphical interface for you to design your AutoRun / AutoPlay menu for your CDs and DVDs. It allows you to design the interface by adding pictures to the screen displayed, as well as buttons that launches the programs (such as installers or setup utilities) that you want to run. The software works on Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP and Vista.
- MediaCD
This program allows you to create your own autorun / autoplay menus for your CDs that invoke multimedia files. It is highly customizable, and allows the viewing and playing of a wide variety of media files, supports a wide variety of options for the playing of a file (eg, playing once, playing all the files on the CD, playing files in order or randomly), supports Windows Media Player, QuickTime, RealPlayer and Flash, etc. It can also write your CDs right directly as well. The program is useful if you need to create training videos, your own customized collection of music videos and songs, your promotional videos for your products, videos and pictures of your family, etc. The program runs on Windows 9x, 2000, NT 4.0, XP, and Server 2003.
- AutoRun Maker
This software lets you add a custom icon for your CD, DVD or USB storage device, create a label for the media, set shell commands for the drive's context menu, create an autorun configuration that runs a specific program when the CD or DVD is inserted into the drive, etc. Note that this program does not actually create a menu for your CD or DVD drive, only the autorun.inf file. You will still need another program to create the menu if you need one. The software requires Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, 7 with the NET Framework 3.5.
- AutoRun Constructor
You can make up to 100 menu items for your CD menu (or DVD menu) with this program, do some basic customization of your menu, etc. It works on Windows 98, NT4, 2000 and XP.
- Tiny AutoRun
This is a simple program that displays a tree menu of programs along with their descriptions based on information you supply in a text file, and allows your users to click the Run button on the menu to execute the associated program.
- CD Portal
[Update: this program does not seem to be available any more.] The CD Portal program creates an autorun.inf file that has the icon you want displayed for your CD/DVD, lets you set the basic options for the menu that appears, like the background colour and image, the text that is to be displayed, the programs to execute, fonts to use, etc. Note that the software asks for a registration number, which is displayed on the website itself, on the download page. It works on Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 and XP.
